This policy explains what information WhatDo.net ("WhatDo", "we") collects when you visit the site and how it is used.

Google Analytics

WhatDo uses Google Analytics (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd.) to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, approximate location (country/city level), device and browser type, and similar usage statistics. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) and processes your IP address to produce these statistics. We use the reports only in aggregate to improve the site.

You can block Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, by blocking cookies in your browser, or with a content blocker. Google's own practices are described in its privacy policy.

Amazon affiliate links

Some pages contain Amazon affiliate links. If you click one, Amazon may set cookies to attribute any purchase to WhatDo. WhatDo does not receive your personal details from Amazon, only aggregated commission reports. See the ad & affiliate disclosure.

Hosting

The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver pages and protect against abuse.

Local storage

When you dismiss the cookie notice on the homepage, your browser stores a small cookies-accepted value in local storage so the notice is not shown again. It is not sent to us.

What we do not collect

  • There are no user accounts, comment sections, forms or newsletters.
  • WhatDo does not show third-party display ads.
  • We do not sell personal information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have rights to access, delete or object to the processing of personal data. Because WhatDo itself only receives aggregated analytics, the most effective controls are the opt-out options above and your browser's cookie settings.

Children

WhatDo is a general-audience site and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
